Mutton kheema Haleem Recipe Instant pot
Haleem is a type of stew popular in the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. Although the dish varies from region to region, it optionally includes wheat or barley, meat, and lentils.
Here i am sharing my own spin on Haleem using kheema.

My way of making Mutton Haleem Recipe | Goat Kheema Haleem using Instant Pot. In general Haleem is lengthy process. I have simplified the process for Instant pot.Please check out our youtube.com/sainthaviskitchen channel for details video in tamil ( subtile caption in english)
Equipment
- Instant pot
- Hand Blender / Masher
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 1 lb Mutton Kheema
- 3 piece Cloves
- 2 piece Cardamom pods
- 1 piece Cinnamon stick
- 1 piece Finely chopped large red onion
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic chili paste
- 1 tsp Salt ( as per taste)
- ½ cup Broken wheat
- 1 tbsp Moong Dal
- 1 tbsp Uradh Dal
- 1 tbsp Channa Dal
- 1 tbsp Gharam Masala
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 3 cup Hot Water
- 1 handful Mint leaves
- 1 handful Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Turn on instant pot in sauté mode
- Heat oil and Ghee
- Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon sticks
- Add onion and sauté until golden brown
- Add GGC paste
- Add kheema
- Add all Masalas and salt
- Add 3 cups of hot water
- Close the instant pot, and cook in pressure cooker mode for 15mins Allow pressure to release naturally
- If using pressure cooker, cook for 15mins and let pressure release naturally
- Open and fish out any whole Masala items
- Mash well for 10mins until it turns creamy
- Serve hot with fried onions, lemon juice and mint leaves
