Onion pakkoras

Big red Onion sliced length wise
Besan (Gram Flour/ Chickpea Flour) Kadalai maavu – 1/ 2 cup
Baking soda 1/4 tsp
Rice flour 1 tbs
Salt 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Asafoetida a pinch
Oil to deep fry
Method
Mix besan, salt, chilli powder, baking powder, rice flour, asafoetida with water into a thick paste.
Add the sliced onion to the paste and coat it well.
Deep fry until golden brown and serve it with coconut chutney
